Padel is a racket sport. It is usually played in doubles in a closed court, smaller than a tennis court. It is similar to a squash court as ithas four walls (part of glass and part of fence). The playing field is covered with a carpet.
Scoring is the same as tennis. The playing field is divided in two by a net. You must pass the ball with your racket to the otherside. The ball must touch the floor before touching any wall or fence. If the ball touches the floor and gets out of the court the point is valid.
Games are played at the best of three sets and at the end of every set, players change to the other side of the playing field.
To play padel, you need a special racket and three padel balls.
It is recommended to wear a skirt or shorts with large pockets to hold the ball and special trainers that do not slip on the carpet.
Padel is very strong in Argentina and Mexico. In Spain it is becoming a very popular sport and it is rapidly expanding to Europe.
