A tour round my city: Benavente

Benavente is a city in the province of Zamora, Spain. It has 17.935 inhabitants and lots of cultural monuments to visit and places to enjoy.


Places and monuments to visit in the city


1. The Parador

ree

It’s a castle located in la Mota’s gardens where you can sleep and enjoy the beautiful views.


2. Santa Maria’s church

It’s a church of the XIII century with beautiful paints in its walls and a lot of history behind.

3. The local library

ree

This was a house of Soledad González, a resident of the city that, when she died, let her house to the council. Nowadays it is used as the library.


4. Main square

ree

It’s in the centre of the city and it has the town hill. Here events like the christmas lights’ turn on, la Veguilla… are celebrated.


5. La mota’s gardens

ree

They are in the upper part of the city and they are a very busy place,especially on Fridays, when people of all ages walk through them.


6. The theatre “Reina Sofía”

It’s a theatre where you can watch all types of cultural performances: musicals, concerts, stage plays...
